The CEO of the parent company that oversees UnitedHealthcare
brazenly defended the insurer as a 'critical' part of the
healthcare industry amid online support for the gunman who
opened fire on the insurance company's CEO.
UnitedHealth Group CEO Andrew Witty addressed staff members
in a two-minute forty six-second long video
. . .
Ummmm ... everybody ALREADY knows different, and
the revelations of the past few days just put a
stake in it.
How much did the board PAY this guy to LIE out
the ass ???
RFK and friends ... Froot-Loops are just a tiny
tip of the iceberg. Time for the whole 'health
care' equation - foods/pharma/insurance - to
be burnt at the proverbial stake so we can
START OVER. All evil actors should be in JAIL.
Hey, if I *pay* for health insurance I expect
to GET coverage AS PROMISED. No tricks !
That's why my opinion is the system needs to be revamped.
From all sides.
The insurance industry AND the healthcare industry as well as the government.
When I had surgery a couple of years ago, even with excellent health insurance by
current standards, the bill was astronomical. I did pay very little out of pocket but
the insurance company paid a substantial amount.
Note that if you HAVE good insurance, the docs WILL
find endless tests and procedures and other reasons
to GOUGE it for every penny possible. If you just
have MediCare they'll get it done and skip the BS.
Your final bill may be rather LESS that what you paid
UHC or whomever for the past years to deliver as little
as possible when you needed it.
Insurance and Big Med/Pharma have a sicko symbiotic
relationship. Med can't RESIST that pot of gold the
insurers have - so they grossly over-charge. Insurance,
even WITH cheats, more or less pays even though they
KNOW they're being screwed and then jack up rates.
At the bottom of the stack, Joe Average winds up
double-screwed.
Post by potheadThe insurance company was charged something like $400 for the Fentanyl I was given.
That's just the drug, not the administration of it. That was another line item.
At a later date I joked with my surgeon by saying something like "I can buy it on the street
for $20.00".
It's the old $20 for a Band Aid scam updated for modern times.
Yep. They always stay one trick ahead of the game.
And the trend has been towards worse and worse.
It probably can be torn down and rebuilt much better,
but there would have to be some interim plan to get
everyone by during the reconstruction. Can't just
say "Don't get sick/hurt for a few years guys".
I suspect certain big-$$$ people are gonna abruptly
cash out sometime soon, totally collapsing the biz.
Then they'll re-invest in whatever's new. Can't lose.
There's also the issue of PREVENTING future re-corruption.
THAT'S gonna be very VERY difficult. Gaming systems is
sort of a sport, and not just in the USA.
